Our Mission

At First Church, our mission is to

"Love Jesus and Embrace People"

as we Gather, Grow, Give, and Go.

Loving Jesus

Loving Jesus is done as we live a life surrendered to Jesus. When we say yes to the life of Jesus ... we love Jesus. This happens through time spent together in community as the Church, through time in God's Word, the Bible, through time spent in prayer, both privately and in community, through time spent serving others and through time  spent giving of our time, talent, and treasure.

Embracing People

We embrace people by entering into relationship with them. This happens with neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and others that we come in contact with both inside and outside the walls of the church building. We want to intersect people right where they are at. We want to live life with people.

Gathering together happens on Sunday mornings and throughout the week as we come together for services, LifeGroups, meals, and other ministry opportunities. We come together because we recognize life is meant to be lived together.

We don't simply get together because we have nothing better to do. God wants to transform our lives through community and equip us to live a life that gives hope and life to others. There are various opportunities throughout the week and year for you to join with others to grow in faith, love, and purity.

We understand that God has blessed every person with passions, gifts, and resources to be used to bless others. Through our time, talents, and treasure we give as part of the great mission of God to redeem and transform the world around us.

The walls of the church are the beginning of our life in the world. We gather to be resourced and transformed so as we go we do so with God-sized potential. Going takes on so many different different forms. Whatever the form may be, we go because our God goes to great lengths to interact with creation.

OUr vision

Our vision is to be a transformative community that loves Jesus with everything in us.

In a fallen world full of political, racial, religious, and socioeconomic division, we are passionate about living out the love of Christ by embracing people of all kinds and proclaiming the transformative message of Jesus that says "I love you as you are."  This means that Jesus wants to meet you right where you are at and embrace you with his love. But we also believe that Jesus loves us too much to leave us right where we are.

Our hope and prayer at First Church is that in Christ, you will find your identity as a son and daughter of God, belonging to a community of faith that will love you and live life with you, and a purpose for which to live. So, whether you have just lost a loved one, your job, or your hope, First Church wants to embrace you. If you have been told all your life that you can't ... we say that you can. If you believe that the cards are stacked against you ... we want you to know that the cards do not define you ... Jesus can.

So, come. Come and see.  Come and discover a God who knows you and loves and cares about you and your circumstances more than you could imagine. Come discover the message of transformation that will make all the difference in your life.
